Like heaven but faster

Written between November 30 and December 16, 2000.

whenever I just didn't know where I was going, you helped me back on track where I belong
whenever I stick out my hand, you're right behind me, you help me get up from the falling ground
whatever I wanted to do, your locomotion, it helped me throw away my careful fears
whenever there's something for me, you always find it and turn my head away from hopeless tears

there's nothing you could say or do
to keep my thoughts away from you
and all those things you said were true
were all the things I wanted to

I waited for you by the bed and I remember everything in my head was spinning
you told me that you wanted time to think about what all the world seemed to be forgetting
I want you to know all those times I closed my eyes I couldn't help when I started dreaming
and even if you change your mind, you know I'll help you when you need to forget the meaning

I swallowed hard and turned to you
and there was nothing left to do
it's all so wonderful with you
like everything is painted blue

your body's the softest thing I've ever felt, like heaven but faster
and when you're caressing me I want to melt and nothing could matter
the way that you looked into my eyes and said you wanted to keep me
I'll never forget the way you heal my pain and love me so deeply
